Boating in Norfolk 'like stepping back in time'

Virginia Edwards, conference bureau manager at Norwich & Norfolk Conference Bureau, said the canals do not have locks, therefore making it easier for boat lovers to explore the surrounding countryside and also making it possible for people to canoe.
She commented: "It's like taking a step back in time, because it's a much gentler pace and for people who are stressed up to their eyes, it's great for them to get away and it's just a more relaxed way of living."
According to Norwich City Council, Norwich has made it on to the shortlist of four cities to become the first ever UK City of Culture in 2013.
The other cities competing for the title are Birmingham, Derry and Sheffield.
